Laura knew from a very young age her heart would one day belong in Africa. Growing up, she involved herself in any and every ministry opportunity available, not fully knowing then what the future held. It wasn’t until her first trip to South Sudan, Africa in 2015 that she was completely captivated by the undeniable plans the Lord had for her there. She knew then she would be back. It was the children who called the streets their home that specifically laid heavy on Laura’s heart. She returned to Kenya in 2017 for an internship solely trusting the promises Jesus had whispered to her heart. It was in those 3 months, Laura saw Jesus’ heart for His children. She saw the possibilities of what radical love could do. She has a dream to see a dent in poverty, to see the orphan find the embrace of their Father, and to see Jesus do the impossible. Laura will work in Kenya under the direction of Eastern/Sub-Saharan Africa Regional Director Ron Wooten and his wife, Sharon, using her gifts and skill set to assist with child evangelism efforts and programs. The goal of this assignment is to help establish and further develop an IPHC Children’s Ministry program and outreach in Kenya and throughout the Eastern/Sub-Saharan Africa region.
