Between 2007 and 2009, an astonishing 26 young adults committed suicide. They were all from the same county town, Bridgend in Wales. Out of this tragedy, a group started an outreach to those affected in a café on Nolton Street, called Solid Rock Youth Centre. They provided a safe place for young people to get counseling and hang out. This history is important because, alongside the new renovations, there is a new focus on youth work and community presence.

It’s going to be called ‘The Link.’ And it will once again link young people to people who care. But it doesn’t stop there. The mission is to link people to Jesus through relationship, the gospel, and Compassion Church. The Link will be a place for the whole community.

One day very soon, we will hear it said, “If you need someone, you’ll find them down at The Link on Nolton Street.”
